Biography
Jason Luong has a general civil litigation and appellate practice. Mr. Luong’s experience involves representing and advising a variety of clients from Fortune 100 companies to individuals in commercial disputes, including securities fraud claims, class actions, and professional malpractice actions. In 2004, a leading Houston magazine named Mr. Luong one of Houston’s “Lawyers on the Fast Track” for business litigation.
Mr. Luong received his B.A., cum laude, from Rice University in 1997 and graduated with honors from the University of Texas School of Law in 2000. While in law school, he was a member of the Texas Law Review and also served as an intern to the Honorable Lynn N. Hughes, United States District Judge for the Southern District of Texas, and the Honorable Harriet O’Neill, Justice for the Supreme Court of Texas. Upon graduation from law school he served as law clerk to the Honorable Royal Furgeson, United States District Judge for the Western District of Texas. Mr. Luong’s publications include Note, Forcing Restraint: The Case for Amending the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, 78 Texas L. Rev.1181 (2000), which received the Texas Law Review’s Best Constitutional Law Note Award (1999) and Best Published Note Award (2000). Mr. Luong has authored and co-authored several articles, including Innovative Thinking in Jury Innovations, 18 Texas State Bar Litig. Sec. Rep. 15 (1999).
Mr. Luong is a member of the Asian-American Bar Association of Houston, the American Bar Association, the Houston Bar Association, and the Houston Young Lawyers Association. Mr. Luong currently serves on the Houston steering committee for Friends of Teach For America where for the past two years he has chaired Teach For America’s annual school supply drive. In 2003, Mr. Luong was selected to participate in the Houston Young Lawyers Association’s inaugural Leadership Academy.
